The ECHR judgment of 06 February 2018 in the case of "Valdgardt v. Russia" (application No. 64031/16).
The case successfully examined the applicant's complaint on the violation of her right to respect for her family life in connection with the decision to evict her from the room of the cohabitant after his death, with whom she lived for more than 15 years, but the marriage between them was not concluded, did not leave. In the case there was a violation of the requirements of Article 8 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
In 2016, the applicant was assisted in the preparation of the application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.
In her complaint, the applicant complained of a violation of her right to respect for her family life in connection with the decision to evict her from the apartment of the cohabitee after his death, with whom she lived for more than 15 years, but the marriage between them was not concluded, and her will left.
On 6 February 2018, on a complaint lodged by the applicant, the Court unanimously held that in this case the Government violated the requirement of Article 8 of the Convention (the right to respect for private and family life) and ordered the respondent State to pay the applicant EUR 7,500 in just compensation.
