The ECHR judgment of October 15, 2019 in the case of Bozhkov v. Russia (application No. 13768/06).

In 2006, the applicant was assisted in preparing the application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.

In the case, the application was successfully examined that the applicant was beaten by a police officer while in the police department. The applicant claims that he was seriously injured as a result of the beating and that there were no effective remedies in this regard. The case has violated article 3 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (prohibition of torture) in its procedural aspect.

In his application, the applicant complained that he had been beaten by a police officer while in the police department. The applicant claimed that he had been seriously injured as a result of the beating and that there were no effective remedies in this regard.

On October 15, 2019, in an application lodged by the applicant, the Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the Government violated the requirements of Article 3 of the Convention (prohibition of torture) in its procedural aspect, and ordered the respondent Government to pay the applicant EUR 25,350 in quality compensation for non-pecuniary damage.
