In their application, the applicants, 18 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, complained about violations of their right to education, the right to respect for private and family life, illegal imprisonment, the illegality of their searches and confiscation of their property, as well as the lack of effective legal remedies to exercise their rights violated by the authorities of the Transdniestrian Moldavian Republic.

On September 17, 2019, on an application filed by the applicants, the Court unanimously ruled that the Government violated the requirements of Article 5 § 1 of the Convention (right to liberty and security of person), Article 8 of the Convention (right to respect for private and family life), Article 2 Protocol No. 1 to the Convention (the right to education) and that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova did not commit any violation of the Convention, and ordered the authorities of the Russian Federation to pay the applicants various amounts from 6,000 to 12,000 euros in respect of moral Foot injury.
