The ECHR judgment of August 27, 2019 in the case of Vaneyev v. Russia (application N 78168/13).
In 2010, the applicant was assisted in preparing the application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.
The case has successfully examined the application that the court that examined the applicant's case was not impartial. The case has violated article 6, paragraph 1, of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
In his application, the applicant complained that the court which had examined his case was not impartial.
On 27 August 2019, in an application lodged by the applicant, the Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the Government violated the requirement of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention (right to a fair trial) and ordered the respondent Government to pay the applicant EUR 3,200 in quality compensation for non-pecuniary damage.
