The case was successfully considered by the applicants' complaints that they were not properly notified about the proceedings in the framework of civil proceedings in cases in which they were parties. The case has violated the requirements of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (the right to a fair trial).
In 2014, 2015 and 2016, complainants were assisted in preparing applications. Subsequently, the applications were merged and communicated to the Russian Federation.
In their complaints, the applicants (five people) complained that they had not been properly notified about the proceedings in civil proceedings in cases in which they were parties.
On 28 June 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirement of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention (the right to a fair trial), and ordered the respondent state to pay each applicant 1,500 euros as fair compensation.
