The case was successfully considered the complaints of the applicants that the consideration of their cases in civil proceedings was not carried out within a reasonable time. The case has violated the requirements of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (the right to a fair trial).
In 2004 and 2009, complainants were assisted in preparing applications. Subsequently, the applications were merged and communicated to the Russian Federation.
In their complaints, the applicants complained that the consideration of their cases in civil proceedings was not carried out within a reasonable time.
On 12 June 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirement of Article 6 § 1 of the Convention (the right to a fair trial), and ordered the respondent state to pay each applicant 2,500 euros as fair compensation.
