The case was successfully considered the complaint of the applicant, contained in a special receiver for persons subjected to administrative arrest, of inhuman conditions of detention. The applicant also stated that his wife was not able to visit him while in custody. The case has violated the requirements of Article 3 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (prohibition of torture), Article 8 of the Convention (the right to respect for private and family life).
In 2010, the complainant was assisted in preparing a application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.
In his complaint, the complainant, who was kept in a special detention center for persons subject to administrative arrest, complained about inhuman conditions of detention. The applicant also stated that his wife was not able to visit him while in custody.
On 10 April 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirement of Article 3 of the Convention (prohibition of torture), Article 8 of the Convention (the right to respect for private and family life), and ordered the respondent state to pay the applicant 3,250 euros in compensation.
