The case was successfully considered the applicant's complaint about inadequate conditions of detention in the remand prison, about his keeping in a metal cage in the remand prison during his participation by video link in court proceedings concerning his detention and other procedural violations. The case has violated the requirements of Article 3 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (prohibition of torture).
In 2011, the complainant was assisted in preparing an application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.
In his complaint, the applicant complained about the inadequate conditions of his detention in the remand prison, his detention in a metal cage in the detention facility during his participation by video link in court proceedings concerning his detention and other procedural violations.
On April 17, 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirements of Article 3 of the Convention (prohibition of torture) and ordered the respondent state to pay the applicant 950 euros in compensation.
