The case was successfully considered the complaint of the applicant that his detention and conviction in an administrative offense, allegedly for holding a group picket, constituted a violation of Articles 10 and 11 of the Convention. The case has violated the requirements of Article 10 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (freedom of expression).
In 2008, the complainant was assisted in preparing an application. Subsequently, the application was communicated to the Russian Federation.
In his complaint the applicant complained that his detention and the conviction of an administrative offense, allegedly for holding a group picket, constituted a violation of Articles 10 and 11 of the Convention.
On April 3, 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirements of Article 10 of the Convention (freedom of expression) and ordered the respondent state to pay the applicant 10,000 euros in compensation.
