The ECHR found a violation of the requirements of paragraph 1 of Article 6, paragraph 3 and Article 8, paragraph 5, and Article 5 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in respect of individual applicants.

The case was successfully reviewed by the applicants for inhuman conditions of detention. Some applicants also complained about being in metal cells at the court hearing, about the excessive length of detention pending trial, the absence of counsel in the appellate hearing, the impossibility of meeting with family members while pending trial. The case violated the requirements of paragraph 1 and subparagraph "c" of paragraph 3 of Article 6 of the Convention (right to a fair trial), Article 8 of the Convention (right to respect for private and family life), Article 5 of paragraph 3 of the Convention (right to liberty and personal integrity ) in relation to individual applicants.

In 2005, 2012 and 2017, complainants were assisted in preparing applications. Subsequently, the applications were merged and communicated to the Russian Federation.

In their complaints, the applicants (three people) complained about the inhuman conditions of detention. Some applicants also complained about being in metal cells at the court hearing, about the excessive length of detention pending trial, the absence of counsel in the appellate hearing, the impossibility of meeting with family members while pending trial.

On June 14, 2018, the European Court unanimously ruled that in the present case the authorities violated the requirement of clause 1 and clause 3 of the Convention subparagraph 3 (the right to a fair trial), Article 8 of the Convention (the right to private and family life), the requirements of Article 5 § 3 of the Convention (the right to liberty and security of person) in relation to individual applicants, and ordered the respondent Government to pay applicants € 10,750 in compensation. The applicants were awarded various amounts from 0 to 6,000 euros. The European Court also recognized the unilateral declarations filed by the authorities of the Russian Federation, which recognized the inappropriate conditions of detention for all applicants and awarded reasonable compensation.
